PROGRAMS
The chapter
conducts guest speaker programs and professional workshops
on a routine basis throughout each semester. Guest speakers
come from the Public Relations profession in Indianapolis and
represent agencies, corporations, not-for-profits, hospitals, etc.
They share their experiences and help our members grow as future
public relations practitioners.
The Chapter also
conducts workshops during the school year. These workshops are
generally focused on helping students and graduates with internship
and job search preparation and include such topics as Interviewing,
Resume and Cover Letters, Portfolio Development, etc.

Speaker:
Chris Gahl, communications specialist with Indianapolis Convention and Visitors Association who will talk about using media relations to promote events and activities in Indianapolis. Refreshments. Open to all PRSSA members and those interested in exploring or joining PRSSA.

Purdue Communications Day
Each Spring
Purdue's PRSSA chapter conducts an excellent day-long program for
public relations students that includes workshops, presentations, and
time with employers. Scheduled for Feb. 10, the chapter will
underwrite any member attending with $10.00 toward registration fees
and will assist in travel costs. More information will be
available in a couple of days.
Special Activities:
Half Day with a Pro - Fall Semester
The Hoosier
Chapter of PRSA (Indianapolis) hosts a half-day program annually in
November for students to spend the morning "shadowing" a public
relations professional and then attending a luncheon with the
professional chapter.
PRSSA National Conference - Fall Semester
The annual PRSSA
National Conference is an outstanding opportunity for students to
gain significant professional development through workshops and
programs conducted by national professionals and to network with students and
professionals in public relations. Last year the national conference
was held in Salt Lake City from November 10 to November 14.
The PRSSA National Conference will be held in Philadelphia, Pa. in 2007 from Oct. 19 - 23.
